Course Objective To gain basic knowledge about Greek mythology. Ancient Greek thought and belief system to demonstrate the significance.
Course Content Introduction of Greek mythology and overview the ancient ages; Ancient Greeks and their general characteristics of the geography; Definition of mythos; how Mythos is born; oral tradition to written tradition; People's assimilation of the gods(Anthropomorphizm); Greek Humanism; Homer's epics; Gods and humans in Iliad and Odyssey; Theogonia Hesiod's work: The Birth of the Gods; According to Greek mythology and Hesiodos creation of the universe; Pedigree of the Greek gods; Greek mythology: An endless source of topics in Western literature and art; Transition Greek mythology to Roman.
