Course Objective This course focuses on the tense relationship between health and capitalism in the ccontemporay world in which the health and medical sector are increasingly being reshaped and structured by market dynamics. From sociological perspective which conceptualizes health as not simply a biological condition but inherently a social process, this course aaims to examines the relationship between health and social inequalties; the “public and private” debates in the organization and provision of health services; and the effects of market dynamics on health sector in various countries.
