Course Objective The aim of the course, can make an evaluation and examine the development of the rock paintings, petroglyphs where they located in different geographies hence the proto-Turk period.
Course Content In general admission, the art history begins with rock paintings and gravings's and through that view, lackings to definition of rock gravings and paintings, official terminology of rock gravings and paintings, techniques of Rock Paintings and materials used in, to respond the question ''why rock gravings and paintings were made? What was the reason?'', to analyse that issues addressed in the petroglyphs, finding common grounds of the rock paintings seen in different geographies, to dating petroglyphs and evaluation of the issues to be considered dating of them, where to search rock paintings and petroglyphs, the methods to be used in the process of documenting the rock paintings and petroglyphs, evolution of the petroglyphs to the pictogram and letter, case of the rock paintings in the world and etc. within these topics Rock Paintings, Petroglyphs - I ( First Semester) will be examined as part of the course.
