Course Objective The aim of course is providing information about the determination of living cultures in the Middle Ages in Anatolia and excavations and surveys in the residential areas.
Course Content Cultures from the Middle Ages, who lived in Anatolia in order to identify the archaeological studies, the methods used in these studies will be discussed. Also dealing with this period, many of the excavations and surveys carried out in settlements used in today's qualifications, and opinions set out in the new issues will be addressed in this work.

COURSE LEARNING OUTCOMES
1Will be able to xplain the concept of Archaeology.
2Will be able to make studies about establish cultures from the Middle Ages, who lived in Anatolia.
3Will be able to explain the medieval finds uncovered in the civilizations that form the basis of civilization and art history and the contribution.
4Will be able to improve an opinion on ​​the effects of immigration and emigration of tribes and clans in Medieval Period.
5Will be able to explain the contribution of surface exploration and excavation of the finds, the surface materials to be used, survey methods to be followed.
6Will be able to provide information about the meaning of the excavation, excavation techniques and methods applied, and historical backgrounds, the types of excavation. Explain the formation of the sites with samples.
7Will be able to give detailed information about excavation techniques, surface soil such as cultural layer. Knows the issues to be considered when selecting areas of the excavation.
8Will be able to describe the made preparations to be done before the start of the excavation and the excavation process with examples.
9Will be able to have detailed information about the surviving archaeological finds from Roman Period and the evaluation of these findings and the contribution of Anatolian archeology, assessment of the archaeological finds on the Byzantine period and examples.
10Will be able to use the scientific methods to the interpretation and dating.

1 Will be able to evaluate the Seljuk and Ottoman period in the history of art and archaeological excavation sites.
2 Will be able to recognize the properties of the excavation and surveys used in settlements.
3 Will be able to explain the different excavation methods.
4 Settled in once, layer-free areas need to know and use the methods of excavation.
5 Will be able to describe the excavation of the fields containing more than one layer. Understanding of the different layers may explain the methods to be followed.
6 Will be able to have knowledge about single-seated places, the walls of existing structures, or excavation of the graves. Tumuli, excavations at Kurgan, or other excavations can distinguish areas of the cemetery.
7 Will be able to explain excavation techniques which are used in which the excavations, the excavation technique incorrectly how the consequences.
8 Will be able to have information about the finds from the excavation areas, cleaning, documenting and be delivered to the museum.
9 Recognize how to use the materials in dating these finds.
10 Will be able to have information about the new opinions on excavations and surveys as set out.
11 Will be able to recognize the problems encountered during the excavation and survey, and recommended solutions for these issues to this day knows.
12 Will be able to examine the Medieval and post-development phases of the Anatolian Archaeology, follows by publications on the subject.
13 Will be able to examine the Medieval and post-Turkish archeology, excavation sites.
14 Knows the problems of the Anatolian Archaeology the Middle Ages and beyond, and these problems may suggest different ways of solution.
