Course Objective The aim of course is researching the causes of re-interpreted and shaped the development of Ottoman art in Europe, Balkans and Anatolia, the Middle East and North Africa. Development to the collapse of the Ottoman Empire period, the development stages of his work is that the architecture will be discussed. In addition, the works of the period architecture, materials and resources to resolve problems, as well as plans to undertake the comparison on contemporaries.
Course Content Development of the Ottoman Empire, periods of decline, stagnation and developments in the works of art, works of art of the Ottoman Empire will be explained to hit their mark. The spread of the Ottoman Empire, the effect of scattering in the works of art, went to take in their own culture will be described. COURSE LEARNING OUTCOMES
1Will be able to evaluate the impact of the early period of development works of the Ottoman Empire.
2Will be able to examine the historical events of the period of Murad II and Fatih. Murad II structures, plan type, material, and evaluate the technical and decorative aspects. In Fatih period Bursa, Çanakkale, Edirne and Istanbul was built in the plan and the decorative features of the structures to evaluate. Fatih, the Ottoman-era works of today's up to synthesize abroad.
3Will be able to provide detailed information about the culture and art of Bayezid II and Sultan Selim period, after giving general information about the history of this period. This and similar examples may be assessed by comparing the overall structures of the period of Ottoman art to explain the location of the development.
4Will be able to provide this period and general information about developing and architecture, after giving general information about the history of the Magnificent of the Ottoman period.
5Will be able to have information on the development of multi-columned mosque architecture.
6Will be able to analyze the Sinan's 6 and 8 columned mosques.
7Will be able to explain the Şehzade Mosque, the Süleymaniye Mosque, the Selimiye Mosque in Edirne and their importance in Turkish architecture.
8Will be able to explain the Period of stagnation and decline of the Ottoman state and their implications to architecture.
9Will be able to describe the westernization of the Ottoman period, the domains of architecture and the stages of development.
10Will be able to make the overall assessment of the architectural works of the Ottoman Empire. Explain the formation and development of this art, by comparing examples.

1 The effects of Uyghur, Kara-Khanid Khanate, Ghaznavids and Great Seljuks arts on Turkish art, after Islam and before Ottoman Empire, will be explicated.
2 The general chracter of Anatolian Seljuks and Anatolian Turkish Beyliks arts will be examined.
3 Conditions of European and Islamic states during the foundation of Ottoman Empire will be argued. Socio-political and economic basis of the early state will be asserted.
4 The effects of Anatolian Seljuks and Byzantine art on Early Ottoman art will be expressed.
5 Solutions of material and architectural problems in Early Period will be argue comparatively on contemporary states. The differences between general and local characteristics will be expressed.
