Course Objective The aim of the course is examining the Carian architectural activities of Hellenistic period in the light of archaeological remains.
Course Content The two important architects, Pytheos and Hermogenes, who worked in Caria during Classical and Hellenistic periods will be studies. The intense construction works in Caria at the end of 5th and the beginning of 4th millennia B.C. and the so-called “Ionian renaissance” in Caria at mid-4th century B.C. are in course’s extent.
