Course Objective By creating an opportunity for critical thinking on the issues that have been dealt with by sociologists of religion for a long time, it is aimed to bring up the issues that are related to the sociology of religion, but that have been little studied, and to examine the effects of the recently emerged sub-disciplines on the sociology of religion. In this context, it is aimed to adopt a dynamic, critical, analytical and contemporary approach to the sociology of religion issues. Course Content In this course, essential, functional and holistic approaches to religion will be discussed within the framework of sociological theories.. In today's rapidly changing and globalizing world, it is seen that the problems of sociology of religion have also changed and the scientific approach to the phenomenon of religion has gradually assumed an interdisciplinary character. In the context of rapid change and globalization dynamics, the phenomenon of religion will be examined on a world scale; It will be tried to benefit from the theories in order to develop solutions to national, global and universal problems.
