COURSE DESCRIPTION

Course Objective The aim of the course is that understand relationship between mythology, iconography and archaeology. The objectives of the course are that have enough information about works of Homeros and Hesiodos, know description and subjects about the Troia war, understand and explain today’s society mythological subjects and their creation reasons.
Course Content Besides the Greek mythology and iconography; how to interpret the representations of Greek mythological characters on archaeological artefacts will be explained.
Prerequisites No the prerequisite of lesson.
Corequisite No the corequisite of lesson.

COURSE LEARNING OUTCOMES
1Fully understand relationship between mythology, iconography, and archaeology
2Have enough knowledge HomerosandHesiodos and their works
3Know descriptions about Troiawars with its subjects
4Know gods, goddesses and semi-gods with their attributes
5Explain description differentiations on particular mythological scenes
6Know mythological scenes in Denizli and around and understand the subject
7Comment on mythological scenes found during excavations
8Explain and comment why these mythological subjects were created and explain to modern people in easy way
