Course Objective
Today, media has entered all areas of social life and has become an important educational resource. Students in different age groups comprise the largest consumer mass of media. In the media literacy course, students are provided with information about media contents and messages, and they are given the ability to criticize and analyze this topic. Within the scope of this course, a conceptual discussion on media contents is conducted and it is emphasized how to read and analyze television and internet content, which constitute an important part of media literacy. In this course, students are provided with a conceptual knowledge of the power, effects, structure and functioning of the media, and the effects of the media on the educational achievement of students and school relations as an external dynamic affecting the educational processes in the school.
