Course Objective "Education and Cultural life in the repuclic before Atatürk's view on education, education policy, the period of Atatürk, and evalulation of studies in education"
Course Content The course aims to teach the students the educational and cultural heritage the Turkish Republic took in line with Atatürk’s aim of first reaching and then passing contemporary civilization level and to get students comprehend the educational and cultural policies and applications followed during and after the first years of the Republicin accordance with total modernization concept followed with examples.
Prerequisites No the prerequisite of lesson.
Corequisite No the corequisite of lesson.

COURSE LEARNING OUTCOMES
1Students will be able to understand Atatürk’s modernization concept.
2Students will be able to evaluate the educational and cultural policies in Atatürk’s period.
3Students will be able to explain the educational and cultural policies applied in Atatürk’s period.
4 Students will be able to understand the change in the educational and cultural policies applied in Atatürk’s period and compare them with the previous ones.
5 Students will be aware of the historical eras and identify their main topics/problems.
6 Students will be able to understand not to look at the events happened in the past with today’s perspective.
7Students will be aware of the reflections (effects) of the topics studied in today’s world.
