COURSE DESCRIPTION
Course Level Master's Degree

Course Objective Starting with the fact that academic reading and writing should be done in tandem, students will gain practice with academic reading and writing skills. They will discuss the qualities of academic texts, the effect of the targeted reader expectations on the language use and subsections of academic texts in detail. They will also have practice with quoting and referencing according to APA rules so that they will be more prepared and informed about research article and dissertation writing.
Course Content Öğrenciler, okuryazarlığın, akademik yaşamda okuryazarlığın yerinin ve bölüm özelinde akademik metin okumanın önemi hakkında bilgi sahibi olacaklar. Cümle, paragraf ve tüm metin incelemelerini yazarın niyeti, okurun beklentisi ve diğer sosyokültürel faktörler açısından inceleyecekler.
