Course Objective
The aim of this course is to provide students with information about the philosophical foundations and theoretical background of Acceptance and Commitment Therapy, and to gain a perspective on the basic concepts and therapy process.
Course Content
Philosophical Basis of Acceptance and Commitment Therapy: Functional Contextualism Theoretical Basis of Acceptance and Commitment Therapy: Relational Framework Theory The Human Nature View of Acceptance and Commitment Therapy Basic Concepts in Acceptance and Commitment Therapy Psychological Flexibility (Hexagon model): Being in the Present, Acceptance, Dissociation, Contextual Self, Values, Behaviors in Line with Values Psychological Rigidity (Hexagon model): Being in the Past or Future, Unification, Experiential Avoidance, Attachment to Conceptual Self, Confusion of Values, and Inaction. Topics such as Counseling Process and Techniques Used in Acceptance and Dedication Therapy will be discussed.
