Course Objective 1) To provide basic mental and sociological information about mentally retarded individuals' physical education and sport practices, detailed pedagogical information, behavioral / emotional disorders and learning difficulties, 2) To gain experience on the basis of resources and knowledge for students who will work with disabled individuals in the future, 3) Having experience in preparing and implementing a lesson plan for physical education and event planning for disabled individuals.
Course Content 1. Introduction to the course (course monitoring program, homework, project and exam, presentation of course web site) 2. Definition, classification and frequency of occurrence 3. Syndromes and conditions related to mental retardation 4. Down syndrome 5. Fragile X syndrome 6. Autism 7. Presentation Meeting 8. Midterm 9. Documentary demonstration: "The woman who thinks like a cow" (The story of Temple Grandin) 10. ADD / ADHD 11. Measurement and evaluation methods for physical education in mental retardation 12. Behavior management 13. Visit to private education institution 14. Exercise and pool use in physical education for mentally retarded people 15.Discussion on fusing education practices 16.Presentations 17. Final exam

COURSE LEARNING OUTCOMES
1It will mobilize the institutions / stakeholders who can receive support in the teaching of individuals with mental disabilities and / or behavioral disorders.
2Equipment and adaptations to be used in the training of individuals with mental disabilities and / or behavioral disabilities are knowingly applied.
3It can do and plan lessons for physical education and activity planning for people with mental disabilities and / or behavioral disorders.
4Knows and applies pedagogical approaches to physical education and sports applications for individuals with mental retardation and / or behavioral disorders.
5It is dominated by basic sociological terminology and knowledge in physical education and sports applications for individuals with mental disabilities and / or behavioral disorders.
6They have basic medical terminology and knowledge about physical education and sports applications for individuals with mental disabilities and / or behavioral disorders.
