Course Objective To understand child’s conception of geometry and development of geometric thought and to develop activities for learning and teaching of geometry using dynamic geometry software.
Course Content Studying the development of geometric thought and concepts in children, issues in learning and teaching geometry; developing, implementing and evaluating geometry activities using various tools (geoboard, dynamic geometry software, etc..).
Prerequisites No the prerequisite of lesson.
Corequisite No the corequisite of lesson.

COURSE LEARNING OUTCOMES
1Students should explain the relationships among geometric concepts and structures in the elementary mathematics curriculum
2Students should compare the geometry content and teaching approaches in elementary mathematics curricula in different countries
3Students should explain stages of child’s development of geometric concepts, structures and relations
4Students should explain van-Hiele geometric thought levels
5Students should evaluate research studies on van-Hiele models of geometric thinking across different age groups
6Students should develop teaching materials based on van-Hiele geometric thought levels
7Students should utilize dynamic geometry software for teaching geometry
8Students should do research on learning and teaching of geometric concepts, relations, and structures
