Course Objective Having knowledge about the concept of damage analysis, damage diagnosis and destructive and non-destructive testing methods.
Course Content Introduction to failure analysis, causes and mechanisms of damage. Diagnosis of damage. Stages of damage analysis. Destructive and non-destructive testing methods. Fracture analysis, fracture types, fracture mechanics. Fatigue and fatigue damage. Creep and creep damage. Wear and wear damage. Corrosion damage. Welding errors. Special brittleness of metals (Hydrogen, temper and liquid metal brittleness). Heat treatment errors. Mechanical process damage. Casting errors.
