Course Objective To provide students with the basic concepts of geometric topology and to enable students to develop analytical thinking with the applications in which these topics are discussed.
Course Content Regular functions in Euclidean space, alternating k-linear functions, differential forms on R^n, topological manifolds, topological surfaces, surfaces in R^n and connected sum, classification of compact connected surfaces, topological groups, group motion, Lie groups, triangulated surfaces, simplex complexes and simplex surfaces, Euler characteristic
