Course Objective Statistical thermodynamics aims to determine thermodynamic properties in terms of molecular properties.Fundamental statistical principles, molecular models, statistical mechanics, properties of gases and solids, first law of thermodynamics, temperature, internal energy, specific heat, Maxwell relations, enthalpy, entropy, second law and third law will be investigated statistically.
