Course Content Introduction to energy and environment, External costs and energy-related environmental policy, The structure of markets related to the environment, The market for environmental quality , The market for environmental quality regulation , The market for environmental information, The importance of innovation and Principles of environmental innovation policy, Principles of environmental innovation policy, Features of a low carbon economy, Scenarios and pathways toward a low-carbon future, Social and economic aspects: market opportunities, barriers and Response to environment policy , Energy planning and efficiency , Government’s role on energy, environment and efficiency , Air quality regulatory programs, Efficient technologies and effect of it on energy consumption and pollution, Cleaner electricity, coal technologies for improved efficiencies , Conservation and environmental protection, Water quality, Hydropower generation and environmental problems, Coal, oil, and gas exploration and production, Waste management, Accidental releases, Climate change and energy , Regulatory structure, Greenhouse gases, increase of its level and climate change , Energy efficiency potential assessments, Survey of economic determinants and modeling results, Modalities for restraining international emissions trading and raising prices.
