Course Objective To develop the ability to use wind energy as an energy source and to create a comprehensive knowledge about wind energy-electrical energy conversion systems.
Course Content Wind energy and the relevant general concepts, short history of wind energy, usage fields of wind energy, wind turbines, classification of wind turbines, performance and design characteristics of wind turbines, wind energy potential and systems in Turkey and in the world.

COURSE LEARNING OUTCOMES
1Identification and classification of new and renewable energy sources, and historical development of wind energy utilization, and classification of types of wind turbine, wind turbine performance curves, wind turbine control, installation of wind turbines and wind power plants, wind energy applications and to have knowledge about making calculations on the energy cost and installation
