COURSE DESCRIPTION

Course Objective To teach cyclic loading and characteristics of fatigue failure. And also factors of fatigue fracture and causes of easy fracture and factors effecting fatigue strength and increasing methods of fatigue strength.
Course Content Cyclic loading and fatigue, Force alteration by time, Classification of cyclic loading, Characteristics of fatigue failure, Fatigue fracture mechanism, Reason of fatigue fracture, Fatigue crack initiation, Fatigue crack propagation, Factors of fatigue fracture and causes of easy fracture, Macroscopic views of fatigue cracks surface pattern and their existents, Fatigue limit calculation by general methods, Smith diagrams, Explanation of fatigue strength by other curves, Factors effecting fatigue strength and increasing methods of fatigue strength; Effects of material type, compounds and structure, Effect of surface conditions, Effect of temperature, Effect of stresses, Effect of frequency, Effect of corrosion, Effect of low cyclic.
