Course Objective Teaching students theories of mechanics of composite materials as known as new materials of our age and the macro and the micro-mechanical behavior, mechanical properties, stress analysis and damage theories.
Course Content Classification and definion of composite materrials, Macromechanics and Micromechanics of composite materials, laminatet composite materials , Elastic properties of short fibre composite materials, Laminate theory, Strength of unidirectional laminate, Orientation dependence of strength and failure criteria, Strength of laminates, Strength of short fibre composite materials, fatigue, Notch sensivity and fracture energy, Deterioration of properties owing to environmental conditions, Hybrid composite materials.
