Course Objective Material selection is the important step of machine design. Machine designer should know materials and selection. Aim of this course to give information abaout material selection in machine design.
Course Content Engineering materials and their properties, materials property charts, Materials selection, Case studies: materials for oars, mirror for large telescopes, materials for table legs, materials for flywheels, materials for springs, elastic hinges and couplings, materials for seals. Safe pressure vessels, stiff, high-damping materials for shaker tables, materials for heat exchangers, Multiple constraints and conflicting objectives, Case studies: light pressure vessels, Material and shape, Designing hybrid materials.
Prerequisites No the prerequisite of lesson.
