MAK 587VIBRATION OF CONTINUOUS SYSTEMS3 + 01st Semester7,5

COURSE DESCRIPTION
Course Level Master's Degree
Course Type Elective
Course Objective Continuous structural elements (strings, bars, shafts, beams and plates) are encountered in many engineering branches such as aerospace, civil and mechanical engineering. It is aimed to teach the fundamental concepts related to how continuous systems vibrate. Fundamental aspects of vibrations for mathematical modeling, derivation/solution of boundary value problems will be covered both using analytical and approximate methods.
Course Content Basic Concepts and Principles in Vibrations. Derivation of Equations Using Equilibrium and Variational Approach: Transverse Vibration of Strings, Longitudinal Vibration of Bars, Torsional Vibration of Shafts, Transverse Vibration of Beams and Transverse Vibration of Plates. Natural Frequencies and Modes of Vibration in Continuous Systems.
Prerequisites No the prerequisite of lesson.
Corequisite No the corequisite of lesson.
Mode of Delivery Face to Face

COURSE LEARNING OUTCOMES
1It is aimed for the student to gain the ability to apply their mathematical and dynamic knowledge to vibration problems, to identify, formulate and solve these problems.
