Course Objective To give information about enzyme technology and kinetics to students.
Course Content The basic principles of chemical kinetics, thermodynamic and kinetic effects on the reaction rate, the general features of katalizinin enzyme, enzyme-catalysed reactions, kinetics, Michaelis-Menten equation, the Km, kcat, kcat / Km values, meaning, enzyme inhibition, the factors that affect enzyme activity, Allosteric enzymes and kinetics

COURSE LEARNING OUTCOMES
1Learns enzymes and their general characteristics.
2Learns the mechanisms of action of enzymes.
3Learns the basic concepts of enzyme kinetics. Learns how the rate of an enzymatic reaction is determined and expressed.
4Learns how enzyme activity is regulated.
