Course Objective
• This course is aimed to introduce application of the principles of rock mechanics to engineering problems dealing with underground excavation and design in rock mass.
Course Content
Introduction to rock mechanics and excavation. Rock engineering, classification of rock mass. Geological data collection and data presentation Stress around the underground and strength of rock. Underground excavation failure mechanism and support design. Blasting in underground excavation and instrumentation.
