Course Objective This course is aimed to continue on interpretation of engineering properties of discontinuities, and a number of graphical methods used in discontinuity analysis in rock mass from engineering design point.
Course Content Introduction to rock engineering and discontinuities. The principles of stereographic projection technique. Measurement of discontinuity characteristics. Discontinuity orientation and frequency. Discontinuity spacing and size. Basic statistics to discontinuity analysis.
