Course Objective It is aimed at supplying students with the basic tools necessary for understanding, Understanding of investigation methods of the paleoearthquakes. To learn of dating techniques. To learn how to trench studies on faults scarps.
Course Content Relationship between the archaeological site and geology, dating the faults around these sites that caused severe earthquakes, obtaining the seismicity and the throw distances of these faults. Dating techniques, trench studies on faults scarps, investigation methods of the paleoearthquakes. Recognize and classification of geological and geomorphological structures that cause of paleoearthquakes. Geomorphology of fault scarp induced by paleo and recent earthquakes, example from and around the World.
