Course Objective The aim of this course is to provide experience in the preparation and pre-treatment of samples in a form suitable for analysis, to provide experience of operating and optimising appropriate instrumentation, to select a suitable working range for a given element, and construct and use calibration curves, to demonstrate the interferences which can arise, and methods of combating these interferences and to demonstrate the use of the method of standard additions.
