Course Objective All procedures used in molecular biology and biochemistry laboratories for the analysis of nucleic acid are given as much as detailed. The main objective of this course to give fundamental, skills to students to carry out successful experiments.
Course Content Major topics include, Media Preparation and Bacteriological Tools, Introduction to Plasmid Biology, Minipreps & Large-Scale Preparation f, Plasmid DNA, Introduction of Plasmid DNA into Cells, Introduction to Lambda Phages, Preparation of Genomic DNA, Resolution & Recovery of DNA Fragments, Agarose Gel Electrophoresis, Capillary Electrophoresis of DNA, Southern Blotting, Hybridization Analysis of DNA Blots, Restriction Endonucleases & Restriction Mapping, Enzymes for Modifying and Radioactively Labeling Nucleic Acids, Construction of Hybrid DNA Molecules, Preparation & Analysis of RNA from Eukaryotic And Prokaryotic Cells, Production Of Genomic DNA And cDNA Libraries, Specialized Strategies For Screening Libraries, DNA Sequencing.
