Course Objective The aim of this course is to provide students with advanced theoretical and practical information about the causes of hypertonus and hypotonus in children with pediatric neurological problems, and to enable students to learn neurological rehabilitation approaches and assessment methods for tonus.In addition, a review of the literature on tone problems related to pediatric neurological diseases.
Course Content Kinesiology of normal motor development Physiology - Molecular Mechanism of Muscle Contraction and the Nerve. Pathophysiology of Spasticity- Normal muscle tone has been established- Neural mechanisms Spasticity formation - Neural and nonneural mechanisms Evaluation of spasticity - primary methods Evaluation of spasticity - secondary methods Management of spasticity - surgical and medical approach Management of spaticity - physiotherapy - direct approaches Management of spaticity - physiotherapy - Indirect approaches. Electrotherapy methods in spasticity Pathophysiology of hypotonicity Neural mechanism of hypotonicity Clinical evaluation of hypotnonus Physiotherapy approaches in hypotonosis Evidence-based practices for tonus in pediatric neurological problems
