Course Objective This course seeks to provide the importance of the economic structure and social issues especially pointing out examples from the Ottoman state, during the rise and collapse of the states. The course also aims at comparing the relationships between the institution of “duyun-i umumiye”(Ottoman’s Ministry of Financial Affairs) and today’s world economic system.
Course Content The course will be devoted to an understanding of the general concept of the Ottoman’s economy, the outlook of the economy and policy during the collapse of the state. Also the reflect of this policy towards the society will be discussed.
