Course Objective The course is to show that how these cults and gods appared in the maetiral sources of the anicent history, such as epigraphy, coins, architectural remains (temples, altars, reliefs). Individual gods and cultic centres such as Didyma, Aphrodisias, Pergamon. will also be explored.
Course Content The cults worshipped in Anatolia and connected with the worlds of Mezopotamia, Iran and Greece, like Zeus, Mithra, Kybele, Humbaba, Theohypsistos are studied on the local base
