Course Objective The aim of course is examining the localization and registeration of the historical and cultural sites and focus on the investigation, classification and conservation of the works of art and architecture.
Course Content The purpose of this lecture is providing the students with the information of exploration of the locations of works of art with specific characteristics of historical and cultural value, the techniques of scientific research, the classification and how to preserve them.
Prerequisites No the prerequisite of lesson.
Corequisite No the corequisite of lesson.

COURSE LEARNING OUTCOMES
1Will be able to have information about the excavation and the types of excavation.
2Will be able to have information about the history of the archaeological excavations in the World and Turkey.
3Will be able to describe the excavation and drilling according to The Law of the Protection for the Cultural and Natural Properities.
4Will be able to have detailed information about the techniques of excavation, top soil and cultural strata.
5Will be able to have information about the important matters for determining the excavation areas on the sites.
6Will be able to have information about the preparations before the excavation and the processes of the excavations.
7Will be able to know and use the methods and techniques of excavation and the tools and materials of excavation projects.
8Will be able to use the scientific methods in dating and interpretations of the findings.
9Will be able to interpret tha data of the exacavation and explain the scientific methods in conservation techniques for findings.
10Will be able to know and practice the registration and recording techniques for the findings.
11Will be able to define and draw the plans of the findings in the trenches and the setlement layers.
12Will be able to evaluate the finds and have information about the preparation of the excavation data for publication.
13Will be able to make general overview of the techniques, methods, tools, materials and process of the excavation.
