Course Objective	The aim of the course; mapping of the social life of the Byzantine period in the light of the resources, defining the political and social conditions affect the social life, examining the reflections of these conditions on Byzantine art.
Course Content	Political, economic and religious reasons shaping art starting from the Early Christian Period will be discussed. Styles and themes of Byzantine Art will be evaluated according to its process within the periods.
Prerequisites	No the prerequisite of lesson.
Corequisite	No the corequisite of lesson.

1	Will be able to define Byzantine sources.
2	Will be able to discuss on Byzantine cultural context
3	Will be able to evaluate relation between portrayals and socio-cultural context.
