Course Objective The aim of course is examining the developments in the religous architecture from the Kharahanid Period to the Early, Classical and Late Ottoman periods. To focus on the change in the upper structure systems with paralelism in the developments of the mosques with the basis of the four, six and eigth piers and the change in the Late Ottoman Architecture because of the European influences
Course Content After discussing the overall view of the locality and covering ornaments in mosques as religious architectural works which had begun to improve significantly with the time of Karahans, the buildings of both early and the classical time of Ottoman will be explained. The Ottoman buildings with central planning ornamented by four, six, and eight attachments will be discussed by comparisons to other similar ones in other works of arts.

7Will be able to understand the development in the mosque architecture and the organization of space and upperstructure in the mosques durinf the Ottoman Period
8Will be able to have information about the developments in the organization of space and upperstructure in the mosques of the Early Ottoman Period
9Will be able to evaluate the developments in the mosque architecture during the Classical Ottoman Period
10Will be able to evaluate the developments in the organization of inner space and upperstructure in the Fatih Mosque at İstanbul after the mosques of the Early Ottoman Period
11Will be able to have information about the developments in the organization of inner space and upperstructure in the Shehzade Mosque at İstanbul
12Will be able to compare the systems in the organization of inner space and upperstructure in the mosques of the Suleymaniye Mosque at İstanbul and Hagia Sophia at İstanbul

14Will be able to compare and evaluate the systems in the organization of inner space and upperstructure in the mosques of the Selimiye Mosque at Edirne and Hagia Sophia at İstanbul
