Project management; project planning, project scheduling, project controlling and project management techniques. Forecasting; types of forecasts, the strategic importance of forecasting, forecasting approaches, forecasting methods. Designing Operations: Design of goods and services; product development, issues for product design, service design. Quality management; defining quality, total quality management (TQM), tools of TQM. Process strategy; process strategies, process analysis and design, production technology. Location strategies; factors that affect location decisions, methods of evaluating location alternatives. Layout strategies; the strategic importance of layout decisions, layout types. Human resources and job design; labor planning, job design, method analysis.
