Course Objective This course aims to evaluate Ibn Sina’s philosophy in the light of his own original works, and to grasp his place and importance in the history of philosophy.
Course Content Ibn Sina’s life, Times and Writings, Psychology : ( Soul and the Senses, the essence of the Intellect) , Metaphysics: (Essence and Existence, Necessity and Possibility), Cosmology and cosmonogy: (The Emanation of the Universe, the Active intellect as a cause of the Existence of the Sublunary World), Theory of Knowledge , The Nature of the Soul, Stages of the Human Intellect, the Active intellect as the cause of the human Thought, Imagination, Cogitation, Insight, Conjunction and Immortality, Medicine and the Life Science, Propositional Logic, The Art of Persuasion, Poetics, The Avicennan Heritage.
