COURSE DESCRIPTION

Course Level	Bachelor's Degree
Course Type	Compulsory
Course Objective	This course is taught in the last year of Dokuz Eylul University Faculty of Law students with the basic source of maritime law and insurance law, tried to teach concepts and institutions.
Course Content	The headlines of the main themes thouced upon during the maritime (shipping) law course are as follows: Introduction to Maritime Trade and Law, Maritime Law in Rem: Ship, Ship Registries, Property, Usufruct Right, Mortgage and Pledge, Maritime Law on Persons: Shipowner, Disponent Owner, Master and Other Seamen, Maritime Obligations Law: Bare Boat / Demise Time / Voyage Charter Contracts, Contracts of Carriage of Goods and Passenger by Sea, Overseas Sales Contract, Maritime Accidents: Collision, General Average and Salvage. The basic principles accepted for insurance contracts and types and insurance law, examination of legal issues related to insurance law to consider the systems brought in.
