Course Objective This course will examine theoretical issues related to the psychology of sport & exercise; theories of motivation and exercise behavior will be examined in relation to the increasing problems of exercise adherence and physical inactivity. Other topics that will be discussed include: the psychological benefits of exercise, personality and exercise, body image and exercise.Various techniques will be discussed in relation to motivating exercise behaviors.
Course Content In the content of this course definition of sport and exercise psychology, motivation and exercise behavior, psychological effects of exercise, personality and exercise, body image and exercise, motivational methods for exercise.

COURSE LEARNING OUTCOMES
1To know basic concepts related to sports and exercise psychology.
2To explain the relationship between exercise and mental health.
3To understand why people exercise.
4To be aware of the importance to start and continue to exercise.
5To prepare motivational environment for starting and continuing to exercise.
6Egzersizde için uygun grup dinamiği liderlik stilini uygular.
7To plan exercise according to characteristics of group (in the phase of exercise psychology).
8To transfer the information related to exercise psychology to new situation in life.
9To be aware of importance to the individual psychological differences for participating exercise.
10To follow up to new trends in age for professional implementation to support psychologically to people’s physical activity participation.
