Course Objective To indroduce the students about the general features of modern period, improvement the students’ skills to compare the different approaches about hadiths and introducing contemporary literature about issue.
Course Content The hadith learning manner in modern period. The situation of Islamic society in modern period. 3 The basic features of modern period. 4 Relationship between the modern debates and Western thought. 5 The backround of modern thought. 6 Different approaches to contemporary hadith problems 7 Different approaches to the term of hadith and sunna in modern period. 8 The modern prominent leader in Islamic world: Fazlurrahman. 9 The oriental approaches to the modernization. 10 Comparing the orientalist approaches and modern Islamic approach. 11 The nature of contemporary hadith criticism. 12 The new interpretation methods in modern period. 13 The values and benefits of contemporary approaches to hadith. 14 The importance of modern period about hadith and sunna.
