Course Objective
The Arabic language has been used in a very wide area. There have also been differentiations in the use of language according to these areas. The aim of the course is to introduce students different kinds of texts in the modern period and to expand their knowledge and horizons.
Course Content
In terms of the Arabic language, the most striking places in the modern period are the geography of Egypt, Lebanon and Syria. In this geography some writers and poets such as Akkad, Taha Hüseyin, Mustafa Sadık er-Rafii, Tevfik al Hakim, Necip Keylani, Halil Cübran have brought important works. In this course, selected texts from the leading personalities of the late Arabic edibiyat will be read and deeply criticized.
