Course Objective Students are expected to have knowledge about smart biomaterials in general, smart biomaterial groups, smart biomaterial application areas in biomedicine and smart biomaterial performance characteristics.
Course Content General introduction of smart biomaterials, introduction of smart biomaterial groups which are smart hydrogels, smart nanoassemblies, nanoparticles and nanofibers, as well as smart surfaces, introduction of smart biomaterial application areas including drug delivery, tissue engineering, biosensors, bio-separation and actuators, introduction of smart biomaterial performance characteristics such as type, intensity and speed of their responses to pH, temperature, light, electrical load.
