Course Objective Learning the fundamental concepts of fatigue and durability will help the graduate students aiming research in the field of mechanical design and analysis.
Course Content Sources of uncertainty in the design process, manufacturing and geometric variability, variability of Material Component - System Interaction, working and service conditions, the strength and reliability requirements, Fatigue Damage Calculation Methods in Structural Members, Stress - Life Approach, Strain - Lifetime Approach, Probability and Statistics, Statistical Distributions , Reliability Detection Ranges. Analysis of Multi-axis fatigue METE Applications Program.
