COURSE DESCRIPTION

Course Objective To learn basic concepts of ecology, basic concepts of landscape ecology, structure of landscape, relation and interaction between living and inanimate objects.
Course Content Definition of landscape ecology, basic concepts and definitions. Classification of biotic and abiotic beings forming the structure of landscape. Differences in urban, open space and forest ecology. Interactions of living and non-living landscape components, interactions of living and non-living landscape components that interfere with the natural world and the relation of man to the natural world, the effects of soil, air and water pollution on the landscape; the use of landscape ecology in landscape planning and design; ecological impact assessment. Ecology and landscape, climatic factors, soil factor, biotic factors, harmful effects of humans, air-water and soil pollution, radiation, noise, general ecological desires of plants, effects of inanimate environment on living environment, use of landscape ecology in landscape planning and design; ecological impact assessment.
