Course Objective The aim of this course is to give students the theoretical and practical knowledge about the importance of plant material, plant taxonomy learning, learning the properties of natural, exotic and cultivated seeded plants which are widely used in practice in terms of aesthetic and functional purposes with sample plant species.
Course Content The aim of this course is to teach the importance of plant material and plant systematic in order to reveal the effect of plant as a design element. The content of this course is to teach the properties (morphological characteristics, habitat characteristics, spreading, flowering times and their duration, etc.) of natural, exotic and cultivated open seed plants (Gymnospermae) and palm trees (Angiospermae) which are widely used in applications in terms of aesthetic and functional purposes with sample plant species. Different visual presentation materials related to the plants shown in the courses are used and the subjects discussed in the lectures on the live materials are examined.
