COURSE DESCRIPTION

Course Objective The aim is to teach students the importance of plant material and plant systematics and to provide students with theoretical and practical information to learn the characteristics of natural, exotic and cultivated seed plants used in landscape practice in terms of aesthetic and functional use with sample plant species.
Course Content In order to reveal the effect of the plant as a design element; to teach the students the importance of herbal material and plant systematics. From natural, exotic and cultivated seed plants that are widely used in landscape practice; to teach the sample plant species properties (morphological features, habitat characteristics, flowering time and duration) of climbing plants, herbaceous and semi-woody plants, geophytes, gorund cover, succulents and cactus, coastal and aquatic plants in terms of aesthetic and functional use. Different visual materials related to the plants shown in the lessons are used and the subjects taught in the lessons on living materials are examined in the practice.
