COURSE DESCRIPTION

Course Objective The aim of this course is to give students the theoretical and practical knowledge about the importance of plant material, plant taxonomy learning, learning the properties of natural, exotic and cultivated closed-seeded plants-angiosperms which are widely used in practice in terms of aesthetic and functional purposes with sample plant species.
Course Content In order to reveal the effect of the plant as a design element, it is provided to teach the students the importance of plant material, plant taxonomy, learning the properties (morphological characteristics, characteristics of growing environment, spreading areas, flowering times and durations, etc.) of natural, exotic and cultivated closed-seeded plants-Angiospermae which are widely used in practice in terms of aesthetic and functional purposes with sample plant species. Different visual materials are used for the plants and the topics discussed in the lessons are examined on living materials in practice.

1To be able to recognize closed-seeded plants used in landscape arrangements
2To be able to understand the usage areas, importance and functions of closed-seeded plants material in landscape practice.
3To be able to understand the production methods, morphological and physiological properties, growing requirements and conditions of closed-seeded plants.
