Course Objective The aim of the internship is to identify construction materials, methods and technologies onsite. It aims to provide students with in situ examination and observ ation about the properties and place of use of materials of concrete, steel, timber, brick, metal, glass, plastic, plaster, mortar and paint excluded in the curriculum of architectural education for fall and spring semesters. It requires examining details and construction principles of window, door, slab, interior and exterior wall, and suspended ceiling in the building. Construction site internship additionally increases the knowledge of architectural students in know ledge areas of construction site management and building-construction errors.
Course Content This internship requires the student to witness and participate in the practical application of construction onsite. It particularly enables the student to identify the concepts of building, structure and construction in situ. Fundamentals of construction systems, detailing and application principles are to be explored on construction site. This internship augments the theoretical knowledge of students regarding properties of building materials and their place of use.
