Course Objective This course aims at improving students’ ability to listen and comprehend pre-intermediate level listening tracks, differentiate stress, intonation and phonetic differences to follow the speakers’ speech about different topics , to understand authentic speech , to develop note taking skills about the relevant topic.
Course Content The content of this course includes contemporary, academic and authentic listening tracks and lectures which improve students’ ability to listen and comprehend pre-intermediate level listening tracks and research topics which necessitate extensive research.
Prerequisites No the prerequisite of lesson.
Corequisite No the corequisite of lesson.

1Our students make inferences by using the contextual clues.

3Our students outline a conversation or lecture with the note-taking technique.
4Our students use the daily speech terminology effectively when necessary.
5Our students interpret the data given in a chart effectively with the learnt vocabulary.
6Our students state the main idea and the details of the speech or conversation at the end of the listening activity.
7Our students give different meanings to the daily speeches by using different tones of voice.
8Our students use emphasis and intonation in a correct way in daily speech.
