Course Content	Definition of medical biology and genetics Cell structure and function The chemical structure of the cell The structure of genetic material Cell membrane and transport events mitosis Meiosis protein synthesis Mendel's principles, and single-gene inheritance Human chromosomes and irregularities Population genetics and multifactorial inheritance prenatal diagnosis

COURSE LEARNING OUTCOMES

1	Understand the structure and functions of DNA, RNA and proteins.
2	Learn the molecular mechanisms of single-gene disorders, multifactorial diseases and cancer.

4	Understand the cell structure and function of macromolecules
5	Understands postnatal and prenatal methods of diagnosis in genetic diseases.
